Trying Again: A Fresh Start

I have meant to use this blog since last summer, and have failed to do anything about it. I wanted it to be a summer project that flourished into a great big forum. I kept telling myself that I would do it later, when I was finished with other things, when it was more convenient— no more.

I cannot continue to put my health second or third. It needs to be a priority, and it needs to become one immediately. Hopefully you can see where I’m going with this: starting tomorrow (because it’s almost one in the morning), I will start documenting my food intake, and make healthy plans and goals for myself.

I want to try to make as many informative posts (I already have a post about getting started on a gluten free diet in the works) as I can about what I am going through and the knowledge I already have about food and IBS and what have you. Though I benefit from doing this blog, I want to help someone else out if I can. This isn’t an easy condition to have, and it’s nearly impossible to control. If anything I have done, of did, can help someone else, than it’s an extra bonus to my own road to recovery.

Anyway, hopefully I can get a big following so that I can get as much feedback and ideas and support and such, because let’s face it, this shit ain’t easy. This time, there is no more excuse, no more complaints, no more failures. Just progress. Just health.

The Purpose of This Blog

Is pretty simple actually. It’s primary purpose is to document my attempts to get healthy over spring break.

However, there is a secondary purpose.

Usually, if I write it down, document something, it helps me remember, keeps me on track. I can go back and look and say, “I did this, I did that.” I want to be able to do this with what I’m eating, and how I’m progressing.

With that said, I hope that I can help others attempt to do simple healthy things for themselves. It doesn’t have to be what I’m doing, but it could just be taking some walks.

I want to be able to get and give feedback on the kinds of things I hear about, the things I am trying. I would love for this blog to become a place where people can share their experiences, and use it as a form of support; as a small community that can give a helpful push in the right direction.

I may or may not post a personal health post, still, but I’ll get to that later. Currently nobody knows about this blog. ;_; so, I’ll just try to promote it the best way I can.

My Plans for Spring Break

aholytaxaccountant:

I am going to get back into shape. Maybe, in addition to kiefer added to my diet, this will help me maintain the increase of health I seem to be having as of late.

I plan to go running, and do god-awful core training, so that I’m not just in shape, I’m in shape for swimming, since I want to try lifegaurding this summer and god knows my core is absolutely all flab. In addition to physical shaping up, I think I’m going to diet. But. Like. Not diet. Basically just avoid crap, and try eating like I did last summer. I ate smaller meals, stayed away from “heavy” foods. I think that was one of the reasons I didn’t get worse any sooner.

The reason I post this, is not only to make a plan for myself, but to also ask that if anyone is interested, I’d make this a separate blog(instead of documenting it on my personal blog), dedicated to documenting this plan(from spring break and on, if it’s successful and productive) and include said people. Talk about tips, document your own steps in health. It doesn’t have to be a diet or anything, just steps that you are taking to be healthy.

If anyone is interested in something like this, please feel free to give me ideas, my ask is always always open. I may also post an explanation of my whole health dilemma and why this is sort of an important, big step for me.

Anyway, long post is long. Off to bed with me. <3
